It is as the poet Rumi said,
There is a sun within every person,
the you we call companion.
This is true of every individal. You would not exist if there was not light within you. All you need to do is feed the fire with passion and with breath. But even if there are only embers, it is still a fire, a light.
I also love these words from Rumi:
A moth flying into the flames says with its wingfire, “Try this.”
The wick with its knotted neck broken tells you the same.
A candle as it diminishes
explains, “Gathering more and more is not the way.
Burn, become light and heat and help, melt.”
To live is to burn.
Only, as a human being, you control the flame.
